After discovering, via Tarrin Lupo, Free Talk Live, my eyes have been opening more and more to true liberty ideas. Eva Robinson, Loring Smith and I have been tossing around, and created a facebook page (EduPorc, if you are interested), about free market and free thinking education for all children. Today, I discovered the School Sucks Project. This project is all about getting rid (totally) of public education, not public education reform. I don't know if many people are sick and tired of the statist public education and teacher's union, but I am! As I learn more about this project I will have more to say. Election Day is Tomorrow!

Single Again

Well all, I am now officially single again. The week Christian and I spent togehter was a nightmare for me. He was not the man I thought he was. We just did not have any chemistry. Oh well, I will try again someday!

Anyway, it has been an exciting time for politics this year. I am attending an event tonight at USF for the Young Americans for Liberty, Alex Snitker will be speaking there. His campaign is really taking off! More and more people are finding out about him and are asking me about him! Wear your t-shirts and buttons, they really pay off! Saturday night, Liam and I attended the USF Bulls football game, I wore one of my Snitker t-shirts and many people saw it and commented on it! It was awesome!

Speaking of Alex, he and Adrian are co-hosting a radio show on Friday mornings on Tan Talk in Tampa, I will post the actual web address later on!

No Longer Single!!!!

Well, I am officially off the market! Christian and I are now officially an item! He is the sweetest, kindest, sexiest man I have ever met! I am truly blessed to have met him! He will be coming to visit me in ~4 weeks! Then, in October, I am attending his brother's wedding in Chicago and one week later, I am spending my birthday with him in New York! this is so exciting, I have never been to Chicago or New York! This will make 3 new cities this year! I met Christian in St. Louis at the Libertarian National Convention!

I am also starting a new women's liberty group; tentatively called Liberty Loving Ladies or LLL or L3!

I will keep everyone posted and upload some pics of us after he is here in Tampa!

Update on the Dating Game!

The last blog I posted about my first date in a helluva long time was a while ago. Here is my update...the first date was BORING...nice guy, but we were definitely not into each other. A week later I met another guy, we went on a date and he was not at all my type. No luck so far. However, my luck may be changing in this department. I love the fact that I am lucky to get to know these wonderful people. There is a whole world out there of family that I didn't know about! I recently connected with someone who posted a picture of my mom, me and my sister from the family reunion we had in 1982. I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Republican Dissers

Last night, I attended my first meeting of the Conservative Institute for Public Awareness candidate forum meetings. There were county commission candidates from Pasco and Pinellas in attendance.

At the end of the meeting, I was introduced to county commission hopeful Ken Littlefield, district 2, Pasco County. He is running for my district county commissioner. I live in this district, however, Mr. Littlefield did not care since I am not a Republican and I cannot vote in the primary. Apparently, he is up against a popular incumbent, Pat Mulieri, who did not bother to show up. He stated that he is in the toughest race for county commissioner. Well, Mr. Littlefield, you only care about winning. You did not care that I am a voter in your district.

Republicans all over the nation wonder why they are falling out of favor, could this possibly be why? Now, I do not believe he had anything against me as a Libertarian, he just did not have the time to talk to me since I cannot vote in the primary. I did tell him that I know quite a few Republicans that I am friends with, he did not care.

Wow, and he wants me and my neighbors to vote for him? Give me a break, Mr. Littlefield. What we need is change. Republicans beware...just remember that Libertarians and independents vote and we have friends in both major parties...this is just fodder to fuel the anti-2 party system. The Republicans in Pasco are shooting themselves in the foot. Shame, shame, shame.

Christmas Time Again!

I cannot believe that Christmas is almost here again. One more week to go! And only 2 more weeks left in the year! We will be spending Christmas with my friends, Brandie & Eric, parents. I am making pies for them.

I have been so very busy this year. I know, I know it has been forever since I posted anything. Work keeps me busy...Wednesday night

Please pray for my aunt Terri, she had a heart attack last night and has pneumonia on top of that. She is in the hospital now.

Political Cooperation despite Party Affiliation

If this is truly the way most of us feel, how come we cannot come together to end these disputes? I feel like I have been disregarded due to my political party. It is unfortunate that it is this way. Why wouldn't people who genuinely love liberty embrace a party that totally and completely embraces liberty and the constitution? The Democrat and Republican Parties have betrayed their party loyalists. They have left behind their bases. I will continue to fight the powers that be under the banner of the Libertarian Party. Libertarians are the party that embraces the liberty lovers and the constitutionalists. I was appalled to see that so many would discredit a 3rd party in this country, yet lament the fact that their party has left them behind. Hypocrisy will get us nowhere. Take a stand and join a party that has continuously upheld liberty, small government, sound economic policy, and our beloved Constitution.

If joining a different party is not for you, then join a non-partisan group that loves and upholds liberty and the constitution. Campaign for Liberty is a wonderful group of people who are coming together to advance liberty from all political persuasions.

The only way to make change is for us all: Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Constitutionalists, Tea Party Patriots, etc; to come together, despite our party choices, to make our country great again.

Funker Vogt Concert

Saturday night I went to see Funker Vogt in concert in West Palm Beach, Florida. That is a 4 hour drive from my house, all the way on the other coast! I had so much fun though! I have waited for 12 years to see them and it was so damn worth it! I will post a picture later on. While there I met and hung out with a cool as hell guy named Rob. We had a blast and I tried a new beer! Rob is into beer like I am. Although I have been a slacker on the beer front, I will get better!

I can't even believe it is almost the end of April. Time is going by so damn fast. I am still single, feels like it has been forever since I had a boyfriend. Oh well, who the hell has time for dating? My time will come!

I have been meeting some cool people though. West Palm Beach was fun. I will be going back to see more concerts there. I was invited to a show next Saturday, but I already have plans.

What a wonderful Christmas we are having so far! Liam woke me up at 5:40 this morning, we waited 20 more minutes before waking up Nana. Poor Nana, it is going to be a loooong day for her. Well, I have received some lovely gifts this year!

From my mom, I received a beautiful red and black (my two fav colors) necklace and earring set! From my grandma, I received a car back massager, a beautiful silver flower necklace and earring set and a sudoku game board! I love sudoku!
From Liam, I received a candle, car cleaner, a car sponge, 5 lb hand weights, a 50 pack of CDRs for burning CDs and a neck massager!

I totally racked up this year! I will post pics of today later, just wanted to tell everyone thanks and I love you all!

What's up all my peeps! I miss the hell out of all of you! I so want to come home for Christmas, just trying to figure out the best way to make that happen.

I have decided that I don't want to be single anymore, not that I want to get married, but I want a boyfriend. I am tired of not having sex! God, it feels like forever, too long to admit to! I guess I should stop being so damn picky, huh? Damn, I am not getting any younger, LOL! I just need to get out of this funk I am in. I need to get out and party! I feel so damn boring these days. All I do is go to work, the gym, and then home to sleep. I have no life. I haven't had any real fun in a while. I need to cut loose and dance. I love dancing, I don't know why I stopped going out dancing.

Well guys and gals,

I cannot believe it is almost November! Where has 2008 gone? I have been in Florida for almost 9 months now. We have had 2 semi-cold days so far. I finally got to wear one of my berets today. Life is good when you can wear what the hell you want! I will post a picture of my outfit later. You can tell me if you think I look beatnik, 60's retro or preppy! Those are the 3 comments I have recieved at work so far! My look is so much different from anyone else at work.

Speaking of work, I did accomplish one of my New Year's resolutions! I found a fantastic job! I work for Circle K Stores, Inc in Florida. I have 2 divisions and 2 bosses, one in Tampa (where my office is) and one in Tallahassee. I have been here for 4 months now. I am finally settling in. I like my job a whole lot. Some days it is very boring, but it is a great job with lots of room for advancement. Plus, I finally have great benefits!

I have also made a huge change in my life. I dumped the Republican party and joined the Libertarian Party! I have attended 2 meetings so far and am truly enjoying it. Although yesterday, I received a call from the Repubs to invite me to an election day party in appreciation for all my volunteering this year. I will keep you posted on the happenings!

Boo Hoo, I am still single after all this time. What's a girl to do? I think I have forgotten what sex feels like. Depressing, isn't it? I am just too sad for words right now. LOL! That's okay, I have a crush on someone, but I'm not telling!

Liam just finished his very first Football season! We had a ton of fun and met some really cool people.

I have been a busy girl! Saturday night I attended a Costume party with some friends. I went as a countess! It was a great costume, I looked fantastic. I even got carded for beer (Grolsch)! It made my weekend! Sunday, I spent the afternoon hanging and playing Risk with some friends! I miss playing Risk, my favorite board game! We need to finish our game tomorrow night! I am loving life!

I am planning on taking some classes again in the Spring. I will keep you posted on what I am doing!

We are currently in Georgia on spring break. Right now I am at the hospital with my friend Chris, he keeps getting bad headaches. I have been able to see almost all of my friends this week. I wish I had been able to see Enika, but our schedules just wouldn't mesh. I may be going out tonight with Scott, Kayna and Rob. I have to wait to talk to them. I have been out of the loop on politics, but I am going to catch up tomorrow. I have 2 papers to write this weekend. FUN!!!!!

Hello boys and girls! Today makes day 5 that I have been smoke free! Kudos to me! As for my other resolutions, I still have time for those! School starts on Monday and I am already stressed about it. I hope I can still not smoke. I did tell all my friends that I quit though. Right now I am watching the ABC/Facebook Republican and Democratic debate. I thought my man Huckabee did very well. He was clear and consistent. Poor Mitt Romney, he did not do well at all. All those dollars spent for nothing. Just depressing. For him anyway, LOL! Now it is the democrats, boring. I will post again soon, I may have some exciting news to tell!

Resolution Update

Well, this is the second day of keeping my first resolution. I did not have a single puff of a cigarette yesterday. I haven't had one today either. It has been a little rough, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I am really glad I have decided to do this. I am rewarding myself in three weeks with a spa day if I don't even have one puff of a smoke until then. I will admit that I am eating more and more, so I am worried about gaining weight, but I have a workout plan that started yesterday. Plus, I received one of those chair massagers for Christmas, so sore muscles won't be a problem. My shoulders are tense today and probably will be for awhile. Quitting a 14 year habit is hard. But the upside is I feel really good. I can breath deeper and I do have more energy, although I slept terribly last night and am incredibly sleepy right now. I am trying my best to flush the nicotine out of my system. Hopefully, it will not hinder me in my noble quest to tame the wild nicotine beast! LOL! I need to laugh more often, it makes me feel good.

Well, it's that time of year again for resolutions, so here are mine! Damn, I hope that I can keep this first one! I resolve to:

1. Quit smoking (this will be hard, but hopefully, I can keep it this time, the 5th time is the charm!)

2. Get in shape (I need to lose a few pounds, about 20, to look my best and hopefully get rid of my new double chin, which is truly scary!)

3. Go on a vacation this year!

4. Find a great job (been working on this one since October!)

5. Love life and keep having fun!

I will keep you posted on the status of my resolutions! I have faith, please believe in me!

Oh, I just thought about another one!

6. Try more different kinds of beer. I have been a slacker lately. I only tried 2 new beers this year! Mackesons Triple Stout and Modelo. There are a ton of beers I haven't tried yet - 2008 is the year!

Crazy holiday season!

What a crazy holiday season this has been! Too many parties! I love life! Last night we had a party for Beth's birthday. She turned 19 years old and this was her very first birthday party ever. Well, we definetly made it a memorable one! It was so much fun and it was without alcohol. Well, one of the party goers came to the party drunk from another party. That just made it funnier. People behave like such idiots when they drink. But it gives such chuckles to the rest! I am saving up my drinking night for tomorrow night, New Year's Eve. My friends are throwing a formal party. Pretty dresses and pretty girls with handsome men. We are gonna get smashed and have a rockin and rollin New Year! I love my friends! We have so much damn fun together and we don't usually drink. FINALS are over!

Fall finals have ended and I have done well yet again! I received 2 A's and 1 B so far. Just waiting on one more grade. Now I am just working and waiting for Christmas.

I am still single after all this time. For a few months I was dating a guy, but things have cooled considerably between us. However, I am having a blast. I have made a ton of friends this year and have been a very busy girl.

My son is growing up, he turned 12 last month. He is such a great kid. I couldn't have asked for better than him. Being his mom and having such young friends at college is keeping me feeling so very young. I love life!

I have a great life now. Haven't been drinking too much lately, but in September some friends and I went to Chattanooga, TN and I had a fantastic beer, Mackeson Triple Stout. It was delicious. We hung out Durty Nelly's Irish Pub. Our waiter was this adorable long-haired guy. I will post our pictures up tonight.

I am looking forward to the election next year. It will be interesting to see how everything turns out during the first few months of 2008. Go Governor Huckabee!!!!

For cranky right-wingers who think politicians don't listen to them, this week I give you elected Democrats running like scared schoolgirls from the media's demand that they enact new gun control laws in response to the Virginia Tech shooting.
Instead, Democrats are promoting a mental health exception to the right to bear arms. We've banned mass murder and that hasn't seemed to work. So now we're going to ban mass murderers. Yes, that will do the trick!
This is a feel-good measure that is both wildly under-inclusive (the vast majority of nutcases receive no formal court adjudication of their nuttiness) and wildly over-inclusive (the vast majority of nuts don't kill people.) The worst thing most nuts do is irritate everybody else by driving their electric cars on the highway.
As lovely as it would be, we cannot identify mass murderers before they have broken any law, and mass murder is often the first serious crime they commit. No one can be locked up permanently for being potentially dangerous.

Even stalking laws can put away a person known to be dangerous for only a few years -- at best -- which is generally not worth spending a day sitting in court, facing your stalker, and then waiting a month for the court order.
So on one hand, the mental health exception is a feel-good measure that would be largely pointless. But on the other hand, it's no skin off my back. Liberals go to therapy. Conservatives go to church. And I think we'd all sleep better knowing that David Brock could not buy a gun.
In fact, I think we should expand the mental illness exception to cover First Amendment rights as well as Second Amendment rights.
I note that before mass murder, the only harassment the Virginia Tech killer was guilty of involved speech: creepy e-mails, creepy short stories, creepy phone calls. Stalkers, too, engage in frightening speech -- but that is protected. Revealing a stalking victim's address is "speech" but is little different from being the one to pull the trigger.
This small measure would have taken Dan "What's the Frequency, Kenneth" Rather off the airwaves years ago, preventing him from presenting doctored National Guard documents to the American people to try to throw a presidential election. A mental illness bar would deal a quick blow to Air America and both its remaining listeners. It would also free up about 90% of the Internet.
And it would end the public lunacy of Jim Wallis, the Democrats' Christian. Wallis' first remark on the massacre at Virginia Tech last week was to hail the remarkable "diversity" of the victims. True, Cho murdered 32 people in cold blood. But at least he achieved diversity!
Anyone who thinks a single-minded fixation on diversity must be the ultimate goal of every human endeavor, including mass murder, is not the sort of person who should be able to buy a gun or to publish his daft ruminations in public forums.
But just to get this straight: Democrats are saying we should be able to jail "strange" or "angry" people, but we can't deplane imams who demand extra-length seatbelts after boarding?
Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed the public expressions of shame and contrition from the Korean-American community after the Virginia Tech shooting? Of course, no one blames this exemplary community for the actions of one nut. The Koreans are manifestly law-abiding and decent -- nipping at the heels of Italians as the greatest Americans and tied for second with the Cubans.
Indeed, I believe this marks the first time a Korean has killed anyone in the United States, not involving an automobile. Nonetheless, Korean congregations, community groups and the family members themselves are issuing statements of sorrow. Not "pleas for tolerance." But sorrow. Remorse. Remember those? They were big back in the day.
If the Koreans can do it, why can't the Muslims? What explains the lack of a Muslim guilt impulse -- so normal, as seen in the case of the saddened Koreans -- after dozens of terrorist attacks on Americans?
How about a Muslim exception to the Second Amendment? That would have prevented the Virginia snipers from killing 10 people within three weeks in 2002. But most important: It would help us achieve "diversity" in our gun law prohibitions.

A Sad, Sad Week

Let's talk about the insanity this week. My heart truly goes out to Virginia Tech and all the students, parents, staff and faculty. What a tragedy. This is just one more f*cked up thing to happen this week. Today is the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing (12 years ago) and tomorrow is the 8th anniversary of Columbine. Tomorrow is also Hitler's birthday. Too much tragedy for the US and the world. When will we ever learn. I love this country, but we need less tragedy and more happy things. The media is OUT OF CONTROL. The AJC (Atlanta Journal-Constitution) had a huge headline "BLOODBATH" on Tuesday after the massacre at VTech. I hate that liberal newspaper and all the ones just like it. We are all worried about copycats, yet the media makes a huge deal out of horrendous acts like these. Why don't we tell everybody how to kill as many people we can. That is now the media's job. How come they never report good news? Even my beloved FoxNews goes too far sometimes. What the hell. How can we, as a nation, tell them it is time to stop? Maybe we will all come to our senses sooner rather than later. At least we can hope. Hope is all that gets me through dark days such as these. This morning while I was getting ready for work, 99x had on a gentleman who was a former teacher, postulating that teenage girls are "asking for it" in regards to sexual relations with male teachers. How infuriating. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in middle grades education focusing on math and science. About 6 months ago, a 17 year old boy hit on me at a camping event. I could have easily had my way with him, but as a person, I knew that would be wrong of me. Besides the fact that he was just a kid. I cannot blame him for hitting on me. I am a cool woman. But, I am 33 years old.

How dare anyone abuse their authority over kids. It is just disgusting. Argh!

Another Fun-Filled Day

Welcome to another fun-filled day in my life! I have been at work now for 3.5 hours and have done nothing! I love getting paid for doing nothing! Still haven't been hit on! Damn, life is interesting. I am currently having a fantastic lunch of Mountain Dew and Combos! This is so incredibly nutritious. My exciting afternoon will consist of yardwork. I have to fix my fence. My female dog keeps digging under it and messing it up, with the help of the 100 pound retriever next door. Then I have a parent-teacher conference to attend later this afternoon. Ooooh the excitement. This evening I will study German and Chemistry. I love having the week off of classes, but I miss my campus friends. I want some beer and a hot date! LOL. I would just settle for a beer though! My life is so damn boring. I need some friends. I just moved into this house near Atlanta and I have yet to make some friends. I haven't had a date in too many years. Hell, I would settle for getting hit on these days. I am freaking out! Why does life have to be so hard? Oh, well. Maybe I will just have some tasty Guinness tonight in anticipation of St. Patty's Day. I could do so much more, but why do now what I can put off until later, LOL. Story of my life. Help me! Maybe someone will take pity on me and give me a mercy date! Who knew being lonesome could be so blue. Me thinks I will put on some Johnny Cash and rock out. Be good and if you can't, then be very, very bad!
